My Services
I coach writers and artists working across genres, mediums, and forms.
I review books or manuscripts as a developmental editor.
I coach writers focused on commercial non-fiction or experts who want to develop a writing practice, on-going writing projects, and/or a book.
I provide one time or project-based consulting services for writers, artists, or organizations on storytelling skills, creative approaches or processes for personal, professional, or organizational development, writing, and curriculum development.
How I Will Work With You
I’ll respond to your writing or art in two ways. First, I care about what your vision for your work is—and what you want to achieve and why. Second, I’ll read or view the work as others (such as editors, agents, curators, or other professionals) might. Together, we’ll talk about how you can shape what you hope for and have created into strong writing or art.
I’ll work with you as you want or need help or continuously through the development of your writing or art project.
I work quickly and efficiently—and am flexible in my approach and methods so I can work with you in the way that is best for you.
I offer hourly rates and fee estimates so you can plan for costs.
I’ll meet with you via phone or videoconference. We can also correspond via email as we need to.
Ready to Work Together?
Writers and artists often contact me because they desire something more from their work and lives as writers or artists. They want to move forward in new or more productive ways and aren’t sure how to do that.
They may want more professional or commercial success. Or they can't start, fully step into—or figure out the mess that is their current project. They struggle to find habits or practices and want to write or make art more easily. Their work sometimes feels too predictable, like they’ve done it before, and they want to do more, be more original. They might say it feels too dangerous or overwhelming to create—or they feel defeated by all the rejections they’ve received or the internal critic gnawing at them. They might want a new perspective, some additional techniques or strategies to draw on, or to have an ally help them take their work into the world.
